Our Vacation Scholarship programme has reopened for applications for academic year 24/25.

The scheme is aimed at undergraduate students in their penultimate year of study and provides funding to support them to undertake independent research for between 2-12 weeks in summer.

Grantees will learn how to design and manage a research project, and will develop skills which will prepare them for postgraduate study. Students often see their research results published in academic journals or reported in conference presentations.

Each year, the Trust organises a poster competition for Vacation Scholarship recipients to allow them to meet and network with each other. Sadly, the event was cancelled this year, but the 23/24 cohort of Vacation Scholars have sent in their posters and we are in the process of turning them them into a virtual exhibition.

Last year the Trust awarded over £300,000 to 76 individuals to undertake Vacation Scholarships.

Applications to for 24/25 close at 5pm on 14th February 2025.
